Geographical Coverage

The ITRD database reflects the transport research literature of 23 countries including most of the European countries, Australia, Latin America, Canada, China, and Japan. It also includes abstracts of transport literature published by other organisations/associations such as the US Transportation Research Board (TRB), the European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT) and the World Road Association (PIARC).

Each record contains an informative abstract in one of the four official ITRD languages represented in the database, English, French, German, Spanish. The ITRD quadrilingual thesaurus allows searching by the term code which is the same whatever the language of abstract.
